Board of Directors

 

The Board of Directors of CNL CAPITAL EKES – AIFM consists of five (5) members and is elected by the General Meeting of Shareholders for five (5) years. The present composition of the Board, whose tenure expires on 15.11.2022, is as follows:

Panagiotis Lekkas
Chairman of the Board of Directors, Executive Board Member

Panagiotis Lekkas has more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance, investment analysis and portfolio management as Head of the Asset Management Division at Alpha Finance AXEPEY, Director of the Main Branch at Alpha Private Bank, and Co-Founder of CNL. He graduated first in his class from Athens University of Economics and Business (ASOEE) and holds an MBA (with distinction) from London Business School. He is Chairman of the London Business School Greek Alumni Association and Board Member of the Lilian Voudouri Foundation.

Alexandros Benos
Independent Vice-Chairman, Independent Non-Executive Board Member

Alexandros Benos (Ph.D.) has more than 17 years of experience in all aspects of risk management, as Chief Risk Officer in the National Bank group. Currently, he is a CFO at Cenergy Holdings/Viohalco group. He held academic positions at the University of Piraeus and the HEC School of Management in Paris. Alexandros holds a Ph.D. in Finance from Stanford University, an M.A. in Economics from the University of Cambridge, and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Cambridge.

Nikos Chloros
Chief Executive Officer, Executive Board Member

During his 25-year career, Nikos Chloros has been a consultant at Cambridge Technology Group (USA), a Senior Analyst at Sumitomo Bank (UK), and a Senior Fund Manager at Alpha Trust Mutual Funds (Greece) before co-founding CNL. Nikos has a degree in Applied Mathematics from Brown University and an MBA from London Business School.

Demetris Zouzoukis
Independent Non-Executive Board Member

Demetris Zouzoukis has a 25-year career in the banking sector, holding various managerial positions in Greek and foreign banking groups, specializing in Factoring, Forfaiting and the broader Trade Finance sector, and has served as CEO of FIMBank plc (Hellenic Branch) from 2013 (when he brought the Bank to Greece) until 2022.  He has also served as General Manager and Member of the Board of Directors of Marfin Factors & Forfaiters (2007-2013), and Head of Forfaiting & International Business of Eurobank Factors (2001-2007). During all these years, he established a Foreign Bank Factoring Branch in Greece (FIMBank), as well as Factoring Branches of the Eurobank and Marfin Bank Groups in Bulgaria, Turkey and Serbia.

He was also a member of the Executive Board of the International Trade & Forfaiting Association (ITFA) from 2009 to 2014, and Chairman of the ITFA’s Southern Europe Committee from 2006 to 2009.   Between 2004 and 2005 he also worked with IFC, within the SEED (Southeast Europe Enterprise Development) Project, to create an appropriate legislative environment for factoring in Serbia, Albania and FYROM.

He spent his entire academic life in the UK. After receiving a Diploma in Economics from the University of London (London School of Economics), he moved to the University of Swansea, where he obtained a BSc. in Economics.  He then completed his studies at the University of Leicester, obtaining an MSc. in Int’l Finance.

Nicoletta Panayiotopoulos
Non-Executive Board Member

Nicoletta Panayiotopoulos has 40 years of experience as a ship finance professional, initially at BOA Greece, with a short interval as a corporate officer at the same bank. In 1988, she joined the Representative Office of Credit Agricole CIB (Banque Indosuez at the time) as a Deputy Rep, and in 2007 she was appointed as Head of Shipping, Greece, a position she still holds today. She has a BSc Economics degree from University College London, (First Class Honours) and an MBA from London Business School, and is a founding member and the first President of its Greek Alumni Association. She is a member of the Marketing Committee of the Hellenic Olympic Committee, whose role is fundraising for Greek Olympic athletes.
